Hi,
For Abbaiah Reddy Layout residents, please check with BSNL about feasibility of broadband. When I was trying for the same in September 2007, they said cables were not laid in the Layout. I think things might have changes by now. Check first whether feasibility is there, then you apply for landline connection. Hope this is helpful.
Thanks,
Arumugam

How about tata wi-max connection.
September 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am
Hi guys, it is a typical problem in Kaggadasapura to get internet connection. I have tried Airtel wgho said there are no enough points, You broadband managed to collect money from me without checking feasibility, later they came back saying there is no cable that extends to first cross, it took 4 months to return the deposit. BSNL I have applied to , after a month of applying and several phone calls (each time I get diverted to a new person) they say that the telephone piece and the modem are not available, if I buy them then they can install. I have even agreed for this but no one came along in the past two weeks and my calls unanswered. Vexed with all this, now I have chosen TATA Wimax. The connection for 500kbps, 80 gb download limit comes at 1200, but from 1st september 2011, there is 300 reduction on this which gets reflected from 2nd month bill, apparently. I have booked for it day before, they have come and installed promptly yesterday. I have checked the connection once I am back home and it works fine.
Contact details for Wimax: Veena – 08066170012.

Guys,
Please dont buy reliance data card. its pathetic. Not only reliance i have tried couple of more options like Tata n MTS…there r the same.
Hathway is planning to cover this area very soon. Till then we’ll have to use these not worthy options..

Try airtel wifi router wireless modem or USB modem, it has speeds of 15 Mbps – 40 Mbps, the USB stick or router, choose any, it is rs.8000/-, with stick it is single computer browsing the net, with router it is multiple computers browsing the net.
Launched on MAY 8th 2012, I just got this and the speeds are blazing. I was so used to 12 Mbps speeds at california, and since 2 days that I returned I am hooked up to this 4G.

I’m on a 5 Mbps 10GB FUP plan of my cable operator which costs me around 1200 per month. Which is way to expensive compared to Act Broadband where you can get 10Mbps speed and 75GB FUP. Hoping to get Act in our area of the cable operators here allow them and don’t show a monopoly and to have customers equal chance of getting a good service and fast broadband.
We are all still living in 70′s when it comes to broad band here! Nearby Banswadi already has 10Mbps connections from ACT broadband.
June 20th, 2012 at 8:51 pm
Why don’t you guys shell out Rs.8000/-, and that’s it, after that it is rs.999/- per month for Airtel 4G broadband, I have been using it now for over a month and am very satisfied with the speed, it ranges from 20-30 Mbps. I do know it is a lot of money, but, internet is a part and parcel of our life and time is precious, we don’t want to spend time waiting for a website to display something. I am not endorsing airtel 4G in anyway, it is just my personal experience and am trying to make it useful for you all.

krishna

Bloody.. Abbaiah Reddy Layout..i just moved to this layout(and couldn’t transfer earlier connections such as airtel, Tikona)
sala no signals, no broadband connections.
You have rely on “so called” 3G datacards which works like Arjun Rampal’s expression(dull/super slow).
I am using Aircel 3G datacard.. its pathetic. IRCTC will open next day.

Tikona is the worst ISP. Do not got for it.
ACT broadband internet via Fiber cables is good and better ISP in Bangalore who has better tariff plans and best connectivity. I have previously used ACT internet before moving to Kaggadasapura.
ACT has plans to expand to Kaggadasapura area; however they are unable to come to an agreement with local cable operators. This agreement is required, else the local cable operators will cut the ACT fiber cables. They think that ACT broadband will take away their cable TV business.
Kaggadasapura residents, if you need ACT Broadband:
1) call ACT customer care: 080-42840000, express your interest for internet connection. more number of enquiries will put pressure on them to negotiate further with local cable operators.
2) talk to your local cable operator and convince them that ACT will provide only internet and will not take away their business of cable TV.

Any idea about the broadband offered by S V Enterprises/cables?
They are offering cable tv connection free of cost (no monthly charges) with new internet connection and are offering 1 Mbps @ Rs 999 (excluding tax). Are the speeds reliable?
People who are using it, please post your reviews/experiences.
October 11th, 2012 at 9:47 pm
I am a resident of Nagappa reddy layout. I was rejected installation because Airtel doesn’t supply broadband here. Any help?
October 11th, 2012 at 9:51 pm
S V Enterprises/cables number please?
October 15th, 2012 at 3:57 pm
S V cables – their TV signals itself is bad even with their digital set-top box; so imagine their Internet connection quality. 1 Mbps @999 for 5 to 10GB per month is a low speed/GB limit for that price. Tikona itself gives 4Mbps for 15 GB @799. Compared to ACT Broadband (10MMps/50GB @999), S V cables is too expensive. S V cables don;t have a battery backup (ACT provides it) in their end point, so if there is no power, even if you have a UPS, your internet will not work.
S V cable folks when asked for internet will give you this info:
- They are an ISP, they use their own bandwidth. But as I know, they use some other vendor and split that bandwidth given to them, about 1:10 ratio. So, if 10 users are online at the same time, your speed gets so much lower.
- ACT service is bad, don’t ask about it (looks like they hate ACT thinking that they will provide TV signals, which they don’t. I have used ACT Broadband in Indiranagar, so far ACT is the best ISP in Bangalore and also value for money).
You should call both ACT and S V cables.
- Tell ACT folks (080-42840000) to negotiate better with S V cables
- Tell S V Cable (080-25241076) owner to allow ACT Broadband in Kaggadasapura (ACT gives a fixed amount for each connection to cable operator. Given the amount of apartments here, S V cables will get more money from ACT than their so called ISP business.)

I applied for a new Airtel BB. But they said that there is no feasibility at my place.
I live at 23rd cross Kagadasapura and the Airtel connection box is right on the main road opp, to my cross still there is no feasibility .
They post ads. right outside my house still there is no feasibility.
I had applied for a connection online and paid 500 bucks for a new connection but no one followed up and they have not even done a refund.
I am going to call them tomorrow and give them left right and center, very bad from airtel’s part…
October 29th, 2012 at 2:38 am
Also is anyone using Reliance BB??
If yes does it still get disconnected after an hours time?
And does not it require for you to login to the reliance portal in order for you the connect to the BB???
Please let me know if anyone has any info about it?

Hi All Kaggadapura Residents,
I am planning to move to Abbaiah Reddy Layout(4th Cross) in the end of Nov ’12.

Can you guys please suggest me a feasible and consistent broadband service?
Cheers,

November 9th, 2012 at 7:13 pm
YOU Broadband is also planning Optical Fiber Broadband Internet in and arround Kaggadasapura (one ad is put up in 6th Cross), just like ACT Broadband; with speeds up to 24 Mbps (ACT gives 25 Mbps speed).
However, their bottleneck is the local cable operators. They are demanding heavy money, else they will cut the fiber cables. They want to deny the residents of Kaggadasapura high speed internet, and want the people to use their pathetic internet connection of 1Mbps which dosen’t work half the time.
Residents in and arround Kaggadasapura, please call your cable operator and request them to allow ACT & YOU fiber connections.
S V Cable (080-25241076).

Airtel Broadband is good from service point of view. I am staying in Kaggadasapura 4B cross and using Airtel BB from past 4 years, no issues so far and response to any issues is <24 Hrs. From cost point of view it is slightly on the higher side though.
November 21st, 2012 at 11:00 pm
I applied for Airtel BB. The Airtel representative Laxman promised me that port issue will be solved within 4-5 days and i’ll get the connection. He collected all the documents and Rs 1300. Its been 2 weeks and no connection yet.
He rarely picks my call. Last time, when he picked my call, he told that it will be done by the end of Nov.
I am in desperate need of a good BB. It affecting my day to day job.
Not sure, if its worth putting effort to get BSNL or do they have the same port issue?
Please advise.
Thanks.

To all Kaggadaspura residents, please let me know if any mode of internet connection is available here for 30 days ? I will be staying here for a month and I need internet connection. wifi is more preferred. Please provide me contact details.
December 5th, 2012 at 7:18 pm
I have now been using You-broadband for a week. there were initial connectivity issues, but technicians were prompt and now I get speeds of 12Mbps (dedicated bandwidth). It is really fast and I have not seen it drop below 6-7 Mbps at any time(I use wireless router). One issue is that their server office does not have power-backup , so in case of power-shutdown , we do not get internet, but they have proposed a generator by this month. Once they have power-back-up, I would really recommend you-broadband, since I have tried airtel, BSNL reliance, MTS but I find this faster.
December 8th, 2012 at 12:36 pm
Hi All, I have been using Airtel broadband connection since last 2 years. They are good. But unfortunately they have increased the prices for the internet connection, i had upgraded to a Turbo plan (1150/month) and have started getting a bill of Rs.1600+ for the last 3 months. The customer service is the pain area. They tell they will call or give you a request no. for issues but then next time when you call them it turns out to be a bogus request no. This has happened a couple of times. So after a lot of argument i have disconnected my connection.
After looking at many options (scary… not many options available in the market) for a trial basis iam thinking of trying Reliance (i know i know… let hope) Thunder 549 plan looks good, their Freedom 999 also looks good, so if this basic Plan works well, i might shift for the Freedom Plan. Iam looking for an economic option but there is no option like that in the market. Lets hope this Reliance Wireline internet options works.
Reliance (toll Free no.) – 1 800 3000 7777
I tried calling ACT, TIKONA (crazy tariff), SV Cable (useless offers: 775/- for 512 Mbps, 1075/- for 1 Mbps).
December 13th, 2012 at 8:56 pm
all who want high speed and better quality broadband internet in Kaggadasapura,
call up you local cable operator (mainly S V Cable (080-25241076)) and ask their owner to allow ACT & YOU fiber connection in Kaggadasapura. Right now, they are not allowing ACT or YOU fiber.
February 10th, 2013 at 7:36 pm
Any update on RELIABLE & CONSISTENT high speed internet connection in Malleshpalya? How about ACT now in Jan 2013? Is it avaialble here? I have connection from S S Net in Malleshpalya, and I face frequent breakdowns, in addition to the pathetic service.

i pay just Rs-620 and get unlimited wireless data @3.2mbps.
if anyone interested in buying my BB landline modem pls drop your phone no -email me
niil@in.com

airtel is a money sucker but their connection is vgood.
kagadaspura is a damn place, no internet other than 3G data cards or max airtel landline or crazy tariff TIKONA .
no reliance, no ACT, no other private ISPS.
bloody local cable operators
March 19th, 2013 at 6:13 pm
I was a happy happy customer of Airtel’s super speed, no trouble, wired broadband in Kaggadasapura 9th cross. Recently I had to move 26th Cross. I did not think twice about getting Airtel broadband there because “It is Bangalore”. But sadly after 4 days of wait I was told that the DP box in my locality is full and there is no hope of getting a new BB connection or a landline.
When asked how long the wait could be, I was told “Undetermined”. Well atleast they were honest. Airtel has serious problems with its DP boxes getting full all the time. Hope Airtel could address this. I miss my Airtel BB
May 5th, 2013 at 8:53 pm
been reading this cable operator monopoly, shouldn’t TRAI (Telecom Regulatory ) help us in this if we complain, no one should show monopoly and deny access to services, this is against basic ethics and I’m sure more people raising voice will force the local cable operators to fall in line, we could also point our complaints to the local corporater and the MLA.
